Abstract

The production of biodiesel from heterogeneous catalysis to simplify the separation of the desired products and reduces the amount of wastewater generated in the process. Also protects the equipment and facilities from attack by acids or bases conventionally used as catalysts. To this end zeolitic catalysts were prepared from ZSM-5 and ZSM-11 modified by the incorporation of different metals. The various materials were characterized by different physicochemical techniques: structure and crystallinity was determined by XRD and FTIR, the surface area by method BET, the acidity was obtained by FTIR absorption pyridine and the percentage of metal cation effectively incorporated in each of the samples was determined by AA.
