Abstract

Layered double hydroxides (LDH) were synthesized with the incorporating Indomethacin and Sodium Indomethacin by direct and indirect route. Three types of incorporated LDH were obtained, with Indomethacin and Sodium Indomethacin. By the indirect way, two of them from two different host solids were synthesized. The difference between them was the aging time (20 minutes and 4 hours). Then, by the indirect method the drug selected was incorporated. The third built-in type of HDC was obtained by direct coprecipitation with the selected drug. By X-ray diffraction the correct incorporation of the drug was observed. By electronic microscopy the interlayer aspect characteristic of the HDC was observed; those materials with the drug incorporated showed large and amorphous grains. The loading of drugs incorporated in the HDC was determined by ultraviolet spectroscopy, obtaining the best values of incorporation in those materials synthesized by the coprecipitation method
