About this publishing system

Focus and scope

The Technology and Science Magazine is a continuous publication of the National Technological University  edited by the   Secretary of Science and Technology of the Rectorate. Its purpose is to disseminate unpublished research work in areas and disciplines that encompass engineering as a whole and its contribution to society, focused on basic and applied research, technological development and productive innovation.

Papers relevant to the scope of the Science and Technology journal include, but are not limited to, the following areas:

This magazine is aimed at scientific and technological researchers, research organizations, as well as public organizations that have the task of making political decisions on new scientific and technological developments.

 

Ethical code  

The Revista Tecnología y Ciencia (ISSN 1666-6933) adheres to the recognition of responsibilities, rights and duties made explicit by the Publication Ethics Committee (COPE - publicationethics.org ).

This ensures compliance with scientific rigor and transparency in the disclosure of information.

Authors' responsibilities

  • Only unpublished articles will be considered.
  • In the submitted articles, the authors must clearly point out and reference the fragments corresponding to other authors to avoid any accusation of plagiarism.
  • The articles submitted must correspond to the research areas detailed in the Scope of the Journal.
  • The authors must respect the arbitration criteria carried out by the evaluators and the final approval will depend on their technical report, the Editor's criteria and the modifications made to the suggested corrections.
  • The authors must meet the deadline established by the Editor, to adjust the article to the evaluator's suggestions.
  • The review process is single blind, so the authors will not know the identity of the reviewers.
  • The exclusivity policy requires that during the evaluation process, articles may not be submitted to another publication.-
  • The authors must sign a document authorizing this Editorial to publish the articles of their authorship.
  • The journal may make minor corrections so that the text maintains the style, without authorization from the authors.

Responsibilities of the members of the Editorial Committee and Evaluators

  • They must keep absolute confidentiality of the authors' data throughout the review process.
  • Proceed to the deletion/destruction of the articles rejected for publication.
  • They must establish the criteria for accepting articles for review.
  • They should avoid favoring one author over another.
  • They must not make any type of distribution or diffusion of the materials submitted to their evaluation.
  • Inform any conflict of interest about the articles presented.
  • The result of the evaluation must be clear, not offensive to avoid the subjectivity of the author.
  • The deadline for the evaluation must be met.
  • Identify and report matches to other publications to avoid a plagiarism charge.
  • When any conflict of interest is noted during the review process, you must disclose it.

Publisher's Responsibility

  • Allow the journal to gain reputation and acceptance by publishing unpublished material of relevant quality.
  • Respect the established periodicity of publication.
  • Before it is sent for evaluation, a weighting will be carried out to determine if the work conforms to the guidelines set by the journal.
  • Accept, reject or request modifications, based exclusively on the opinions made by the arbitrators.
  • Using the anti-plagiarism software, check the text of the articles submitted with a request for publication, in order to avoid accusations of plagiarism.
  • The editing and publication process must be transparent and impartial for the safety of the authors.

Duplicate, redundant or simultaneous postings  

Tecnología y Ciencia Magazine accepts only unpublished papers. Articles submitted for publication must be original and must not have been sent to another publisher. At the time of submission, authors should disclose details of related articles (also when in another language), similar articles in press, and translations.

The editorial policy of RTyC does not admit the  duplicate  or  redundant publication , or the simultaneous submission for evaluation, of articles.

Articles will not be accepted for evaluation that:

  1. have been submitted simultaneously for evaluation to another publication,
  2. have a previous publication in the same or another language,
  3. consist of a presentation from different angles, or on different aspects, previously published research, by the same authors, without mentioning the original article
  4. have been previously published in scientific conferences of any kind that contain the same development and conclusions* 

*If they are accepted to evaluate extensions of works presented, with new or greater methods and new conclusions.

The academic and editorial managers of the Congress section are the editors, presidents or coordinators of the meetings in which the published documents are generated.

Research Supporting Data

Authors who publish their articles in this journal must attach the supporting data of the research, which must be deposited in accordance with Law No. 26,899, Open Access Institutional Digital Repositories.

Tecnología y Ciencia Magazine upholds   its commitment to the policies of Open Access to scientific information, considering that both scientific publications and research financed with public funds should circulate on the Internet freely, freely and without restrictions. 

This journal is based on the principle that offering the public free access to research helps a greater global exchange of knowledge by adhering to those established in the  BOAI (2002) Budapest Open Access Initiative .

The publication of articles in this magazine is free. Access by readers to the content of this magazine is free of charge and is available on this site in its entirety and without restriction.

Times of the editorial process of the Technology and Science Magazine

The times presented below are tentative

The works will only begin with the stages when they are in the accepted format, under the publication standards and attach the note authorizing the magazine

Shipping Stage (10 to 15 days)

  • Analysis of the topic of the work
  • Analysis of the work form structure
  • Originality analysis
  • Plagiarism analysis

Review Stage (35 to 90 days)

  • Pre-review, analysis of the background structure of the work
  • Simple peer review, its start will depend on the availability of reviewers, several rounds of review can be generated.

Response to review (6 months)

The authors will have 6 months to provide a response to the revision carried out (upload of modifications to the platform). After this period, a reminder will be sent to all the authors of the work. If there is no response after one month, a reminder will be sent to all the authors of the work. will cancel the shipment.

Editorial/Production/Publication Stage (5 to 10 days)

The times of this stage will depend on the authors' response to the versions sent, whether to make corrections or approve them (this stage will be paused in the month of January)

Note: in the month of January the magazine is on recess, editorial activity will be reduced and it is not published in that month

Financing

The Technology and Science Magazine is financially supported by the National Technological University, which works with public funds.

 

Pre-Review and Peer Review Process

The Editorial Committee carries out a first review of the originals to ensure correct compliance with the publication standards of the journal (submission stage), after this instance a pre-evaluation of the relevance and structure of the contents will be carried out (first round of evaluation). , in order to facilitate the task of the peer reviewers. After this stage, the manuscripts (Articles) are evaluated by peer reviewers selected by the Editorial Committee, following the guidelines of the Simple Blind Peer Review System, in order to guarantee the quality of the contents. The evaluations must be carried out on the basis of criteria exclusively on the scientific relevance, originality, clarity and relevance of the works presented.

Articles are submitted to peer review or external specialists and the Editorial Committee. The selection of the evaluators will be carried out by the editorial committee taking into account the technological scientific level in order to the theme proposed in the article, the identity of the evaluators will be kept in absolute reserve.

The opinions of the evaluators will consist of 5 (five) decisions:

Approval, approval with changes in form, approval with changes in substance, approval with changes in form and substance, and rejection.


In case of receiving favorable evaluations, but with modifications, the papers will be sent back to the authors so that they make all the corrections or modifications requested.

The final decision is taken by the direction of the magazine.

 

Call for submission of articles

As of number 42 corresponding to the third quarter of 2021, the publication would become continuous. 

publication scheme

It consists of three (3) annual issues and will have two (2) instances:  in progress  and  closed. 

Publication periods:   

The publication of the  first issue  of the year will open ( in progress ) on the first business day* of February and will end ( closed ) on the last business day of April.  

The publication of the  second issue  of the year will open ( in progress ) on the first business day* of May and will end ( closed ) on the last business day of August. 

The publication of the  third issue  of the year will open ( in progress ) on the first business day* of September and will end ( closed ) on the last business day of December.   

*The opening of the publications will be subject to the availability of articles  

Note: Articles that complete the editorial process satisfactorily will be published immediately in the issue that is in the "in progress" instance and will be incorporated in descending order by date of acceptance. Once the issue is closed, they will be ordered in ascending order for keep their numbering.

PKP Preservation Network
PKP has developed the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) to digitally preserve OJS journals. The LOCKSS program offers decentralized and distributed preservation, perpetual access without interruptions, and preservation of the authentic original version of the content.

The Technology and Science Magazine is also hosted in the server center of the National Technological University, which guarantees the safekeeping and recovery of the scientific and technological documents published in the magazine.

The collaboration of the editors, authors and reviewers of this journal and the ethics guide of the editorial processes is governed by the Principles of transparency and good practice in academic publications of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) available here .

All articles submitted to this publication will be supervised by means of  www.plagius.com/es plagiarism detection software.
