In recent years, wind energy has experienced strong growth has been reflected in the increase of wind farms installed in different parts of the world.
Despite the benefits associated with energy generation from wind is necessary to study and analyze the potential environmental impacts, product installation and operation thereof.
This paper aims to identify and assess the potential environmental impacts created by the installation of a wind farm in the town of Necochea, Buenos Aires. Methodology was applied environmental impact assessment, which identified the elements of the environment likely to be impacted in both the construction and operation stage and weighted impacts in qualitative and quantitative.
As a result of the application of the methodology is able to detect and weigh a total of 99 impacts. Eighty-three are negative impacts, of which 46 of them are of a low negative, 20 negative average of 16 high and 1 negative critical. Most are generated in the construction phase mainly affecting the physical and natural subsystem. Regarding the positive impacts were identified and weighed 16, 10 of which are of a low positive, medium positive 2 and 4 high positive, there were no positive impacts on this critical case.
All the positive impacts will occur in the socioeconomic subsystem and a majority in the operational phase of the park
