Abstract

In these paper describes the electrochemical properties of a prototype similar to that of a commercial battery Ni-MH. The presence of cobalt in alpha and beta phases of active material nickel hydroxide as a positive electrode improves efficiency of reducing the pressure load generated by the oxygen evolution. The presence of a different kind defects in the structure of the active material as evidenced by distortions and asymmetry of the reflections in XRD and the morphology of the aggregates influence both the potential for oxygen evolution as on its electrochemical characteristics.
