Abstract

This paper describes 2 “x 3” beams of ponderosa pine from forests implanted in the Andean zone of the Province of Rio Negro applying the European Norms to determine modulus of elasticity, flexural strength and density. We propose the parameters to perform the resistant visual classification of the test pieces and the values of the properties by Degree.
Bending strength values of 17.1 N / mm2 and 14.0 N / mm2, with modulus of elasticity of 7340 N / mm2 and 6105 N / mm2, and densities of 341.1 N / mm2 and 349.0 N / mm2, were obtained for the sorted wood. Grade 1 and 2, respectively.
