Abstract

The present work seeks to determine the approximation of the results obtained by two modeling techniques to evaluate the performance of an information system, the first based on discrete event simulation and the second through operational models that match the queue network theory. The closeness of results allows us to conclude when operational models can be used to validate the simulation results in the absence of data from the real system. The development of this paper considers a system of electronic commerce, in which performance metrics are estimated by simulation and operational model.
