Abstract

The 3D design software and finite elements models are an invaluable tool in the simulation and prediction of mechanical fatigue in the axles and drive shafts that make industrial equipment failures.
Given the short time that we have today for the design and verification of machine elements mentioned above, is that the finite element calculation is a tool that overcomes against traditional calculation methodology.
The purpose of this paper is to present, in a simplified way, the close relationship and comparison between theoretical results and those obtained by finite elements, following a modeling methodology and specific and well defined calculation.
