Abstract

The layered double hydroxides are like anionic clays materials. These clays can be modified with certain metals in order to impart a basic character for use in fine chemical reactions. In this work the study of double layer hydroxides
incorporated by coprecipitation method with metals such as Zn, Ni, La and Ce is presented. These materials showed good structure, surface area and high basicity. The catalytic activity, the condensation reaction was studied to obtain chalcones, conversions were higher than 80% with high selectivity and purity of the desired product.
