Abstract

The behavior of solar thermal installations depends on many variables, one of them is the temperature of the feed water to the collector. In many countries, the temperature of the feed water to be used to predict the long-term production of a solar installation is standardized. The temperature of the mains water depends strongly on the ambient temperature and the residence time of the water in the pipes. In this work, the temporal profile of temperatures for the network water in the city of Resistencia was established, its relationship with the ambient temperature was analyzed and the solar fraction of an installation to provide domestic hot water was calculated based on the evolution of the temperatures. The temporal temperature profiles were adjusted using a harmonic oscillation of an annual period, with an average 4ºC higher than the ambient temperature and an amplitude of 6ºC, with the minimum for the month of July.
