Publication Rules

RULES FOR THE PUBLICATION OF ARTICLES

The Editorial Committee of the Technology and Science Journal of the National Technological University will receive the scientific and / or technological articles of the authors from the magazine's management and will be in charge of designating the specialized external arbitrators for the evaluation of the works who will recommend their publication or its rejection.

The Direction of the Magazine will be in charge of notifying the author / s of the work of the decision of the Editorial Committee that will be unappealable.

Authors interested in publishing articles in the Technology and Science Journal of the National Technological University should send their works in accordance with the rules indicated below:

Works related to the area of ​​science and technology that represent a significant contribution to technological development will be accepted.
They should be written in Spanish or English and special care should be taken in the correct use of spelling and writing.
Authors who publish in this journal accept the following conditions:

The authors [translators] keep the copyright and give the journal the right to the first publication, with the work registered with the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License, which allows third parties to use what is published whenever they mention the authorship of the work and the first publication in this magazine.
Authors can make other independent and additional contractual agreements for the non-exclusive distribution of the article published in this journal (eg, include it in an institutional repository or publish it in a book) as long as they clearly indicate that the work It was published for the first time in this magazine.
Authors are allowed and recommended to publish their work on the Internet (for example on institutional or personal pages).
The concepts and opinions expressed in the published articles and the use that others may make of them are the exclusive responsibility of the authors.

Considering that the article sent is directly reproduced the final responsibility of the writing is of the authors and the responsibility on the quality of the form and its adjustment to international standards is of the University.

Articles submitted for evaluation must be in Word or OpenOffice format, Word template

ARTICLE FORMAT

It is recommended that the complete work have between 15,000 and 30,000 characters with space and the following structure: summary, introduction, development, results and discussion, tables and figures, conclusions and references.

A section of Acknowledgments may be included, which must be written in no more than 4 lines and will be located just before the References.

 

  ORGANIZATION OF THE WORK

Clarification: articles that do not comply with the required format can not be evaluated until they are adapted to it and should be reloaded as a new shipment, be sure to comply with the procedures detailed below

The articles will have the following parts: Title in Spanish, Title in English, authors, institutional membership for each author, electronic address, summary in Spanish, keywords in Spanish, abstract in English, keywords in English, text of the work (introduction, development , conclusions), bibliographic list, acknowledgments (if applicable).

The name of the authors will be indicated, without degrees or titles, according to: first name and surname (s).ORCID +info

Summary: must not exceed 150 words in the Spanish version and the corresponding amount in the English version. You must accurately present the content of the work described in a simple and direct way. It should establish objectives and scope of the study carried out describing in a synthetic way the methodology, a summary of results and the main conclusions.It must not contain information or conclusions that are not included in the article. Do not use abbreviations or cite references, except for strict exceptions.

Key words: It should include three to five keywords (keywords) that allow a potential user to identify the article in international databases. Authors should define them among those that they consider will be most appropriate for this purpose. Generally those words that are chosen as keywords will also appear in the title of the article or, at least, in the summary.

 

Formulas: The formulas and mathematical expressions must be separated from the paragraphs of text by a blank space. The same spacing will be respected between each of them if several must be listed in succession. They will be presented in Math Type and, if this is not possible, in Word. It should be avoided to present them in jpg format. The formulas will be adjusted to the left margin of the column and will be numbered correlatively and in parentheses at the right end of the corresponding line. The meaning and the units used in each term of the expressions must be perfectly defined. The use of the International System of Units (SI) is recommended. If it is considered convenient, the values ​​of other units or conversion factors may be entered in parentheses.

Figures and graphs: The figures will be numbered consecutively in order of appearance in the text and will include a brief explanatory title at the bottom (eg: Figure 1. Experimental data of liquid heat capacities.). If it is necessary to include photos, they should be designated as figures. They should be presented with good definition. They should be inserted in the corresponding place between the text and should also be sent as attachments (complementary) in JPG format and web quality. The graphics must be inserted as figures (JPG).

Tables: The tables will be numbered consecutively independently of the figures and according to the order of appearance in the text, including an explanatory title in the lower part (Ex .: Table 1. Data of distribution of the population.) Leaving a space between the epigraph and the following text.

The legends of the axes must be clear and precise. For the ordinate axis they will be located vertically from bottom to top and for the abscissas horizontally from left to right.

 

CITATION AND BIBLIOGRAPHICAL LIST

References: The term Bibliography should not be used as a synonym for References. In the text of the work will be cited by author, year and page / s cited in parentheses (Ahmad and Barton, 1997: 15-16). When there are more than two authors, the first author will be cited followed by et al. (Chang et al., 1999). In the bibliographic list (at the end of the article) all references cited with the full name of the authors in alphabetical order and without numbering according to the format of APA standards must be mentioned:

Journal articles: Author's last name, Initial of the name (year of publication in parentheses). "Complete title of the article in quotes", full name of the journal in italics, volume, number in parentheses (if applicable), the start and end page numbers of the article separated by a hyphen. Example: Eckert, C. and Sherman, S. (1996). "Measurement and Prediction of Limiting Activity Coefficients", Fluid Phase Equilibria, 116, 333-342.

Books: In this case you must also indicate the city in which it was published, the publishing house. Example: Boyce, W. and Di Prima, R. (1997). Elementary Differential Equations and Boundary Value Problems. New York: John Wiley & Sons, 169-204.

Thesis: To quote them, the following details must be indicated: author, title, mention of the thesis (indicate the degree that has been reached in parentheses), institution, place, number of pages and date of publication in parentheses. Example: Ahmad, B. S. (1997). "Synthesis of Batch Processes with Integrated Solvent Recovery", Thesis (Ph. D.in Chemical Engineering), Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Massachusetts.

Conference Proceedings: They must be cited according to the format established for journal articles but replacing the name of the publication with the one corresponding to the event, in addition to the place and date of completion. Example: Valderrama, O. and Roselló, A. (1996). "Application of the Chemcad-Batch Simulator to the Vínica Distillation", Proceedings of the 3rd Inter-American Congress of Computing Applied to the Process Industry, CAIP'96, Villa María, Argentina, November 12 to 15, 229-232.

Patents: Author (s), title, number, office, country of registration and date will be indicated. Example: Majewski, Parsey and Skelly, "Purification of Salicylanilide", Pat. No. 3,221,051 - United States Patent Office - USA - Nov. 30, (1965).

Electronic Documents: The material to be cited that is available in this type of support must receive the same treatment as the printed documents cited as they are texts or electronic publications. The address through which there will be access between antilambdas will be indicated. Example: Wollstonecraft, M. Acknowledgment of receipt: The editor will send a notification upon receipt of the work. Once accepted for publication, the authors will be informed.

Authors are requested that after the last section, References, with the title “Contribution of the Authors” (+ info about CRediT), the credits of the co-authors are presented as follows:

PRE-REVIEW PROCESS and REVIEW BY EVALUATING PAIRS

The Editorial Committee performs a first review of the originals to ensure correct compliance with the journal's publication standards (submission stage), after this stage a pre-evaluation of the relevance and structure of the contents will be carried out (first evaluation round) , in order to facilitate the task of peer evaluators. After this stage, the manuscripts (Articles) are evaluated by the peer reviewers selected by the Editorial Committee, following the guidelines of the Simple Blind Peer Review System, in order to guarantee the quality of the contents. The evaluations must be carried out on the basis of criteria exclusively on the scientific relevance, originality, clarity and relevance of the works presented.

The Articles are submitted to arbitration by peers or external specialists and by the Editorial Committee. The selection of the evaluators will be made by the editorial committee taking into account the scientific and technological level in order to the theme proposed in the article, the identity of the evaluators will be kept in absolute reserve.

The opinions of the evaluators will consist of 5 (five) decisions:

Approval, approval with modifications of form, approval with modifications of substance, approval with modifications of form and substance and rejection.


In case of receiving favorable evaluations, but with modifications, the works will be sent again to the authors to make all the corrections or modifications requested.

The final decision is made by the management of the magazine.

AUTHORS 'COMMUNICATION

From the reception of the work to its publication the editor will maintain communication with the authors as circumstances require. The communication will be made with the first author unless expressly indicated on the first page of the article to which of them the correspondence should be directed. The authors are asked to grant the editor a prudent time to adequately carry out the evaluation process.

 

THEMES TO BE TREATED IN THE MAGAZINE

Technology and Science will accept works derived from research carried out in the field of science and technology.

The topics to be addressed will aim to keep permanently updated those areas and disciplines that encompasses engineering as a whole and its contribution to society and will be focused on basic and applied research, technological development and productive innovation.

The technical articles should consider topics of theoretical and practical interest with the purpose of deepening the technological knowledge related to the procedures and means available to address various problems both in the field of university education and professional practice.

Exceptionally, articles that are not within the previously defined theme but that, in the opinion of the Editorial Committee, may be of interest may be contemplated.

 

SUBMISSION OF WORK

The sending of the collaborations will be done only through the system in which the journal is housed, in which at the beginning, through a mandatory form, the authors will accept the rules of the publication.
