Abstract

Materials of MCM-41 type were synthesized with molar ratios Si / Al = 60 and 20 and synthesis times of 0, 1, 2 and 6 days, where the synthesis time 0 corresponds to the untreated material hydrothermal.
The samples were characterized by X-Ray diffraction (XRD), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and specific surface area.The materials were evaluated in the Beckmann rearrangement reaction to obtain caprolactam from cyclohexanone oxime.It was found that the time of synthesis of materials is an important parameter to get a good degree of incorporation of metal in the mesoporous structure. For both Si / Al in the initial gel, a synthesis time of six days of hydrothermal treatment allowed obtain a greater incorporation of tetrahedral Al, achieving a conversion of cyclohexanone oxime of about 36% with a selectivity to Caprolactam of 100%
