Abstract

Internationally known as geosynthetic materials polymeric grids are placed to work under Tensile strength between pavement layers in order to prevent reflection cracking, among other functions. When an asphalt mix at high
temperature is placed and compacted on the grid, the tensile strength may be modified.
To assess we performed tests using foreign materials and polyester materials developed in Argentina, representing the placing and determining the tensile strength before and after placing the materials in contact with a conventional asphalt mixture at different temperatures.
The results support the use of the materials in pavement rehabilitation by reinforced asphalt hot mix, finding advantages and disadvantages to each.
