Abstract

An algorithm has been developed in Matlab to perform sensitivity studies of short-circuit currents and overvoltage in healthy phases, according to different types and values of ground impedances for three-winding transformers. The algorithm applies to Transformer Stations distributed along Santa Fe Province that supply weak lines at the level of 33 [kV], property of the Provincial Energy Company. From the sensitivity test realized, it is inferred that the grounding reactances present a more appropriate behavior in comparison with the resistors, being the ideal values 7 and 13 [Ω] for all transformer stations with transformers of 30 and 15 [MVA] respectively. Their inclusion represents an approximate 60 percent reduction in the magnitude of the ground fault currents and a 35 percent attenuation of the electrodynamic effects in the transformer.
