Abstract

The production of chemical pollutants from industrial, agricultural and domestic activities, as well as their emissions, is one of the most relevant and important environmental problems. Waterways are one of the most affected natural resources due to demographic growth and the consequent increase in anthropogenic activity. Subsequently, the environment and the quality of life of the surrounding inhabitants are severely affected.In this context, advanced oxidation processes (APOs) appear as an efficient and complementary solution to the existing processes and technologies. This work aims to synthesize and evaluate microporous materials, namely synthetic Y, Beta and ZSM-5 and natural zeolites, and to modify them with transition metals (Fe, Zn, Sn, etc.) in order to be used in the photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants present in water courses, such as pharmacological drugs (levamisole), pesticides (glyphosate) and industrial dyes (methyl orange, alizarin, etc) .
