In the present work, the biochemical methanogenic potential (BMP) of apple pomace (OM), pear pomace (OP), grape pomace (OU) and malt bagasse (BM), the main waste from agroindustrial activity in the Alto Valle of Río Negro and Neuquén, was studied, in co-digestion with freshwater macroalgae. The results obtained indicate that the BMP is not significantly influenced by the addition of macroalgae in the co-digestion mixture, with the exception of pear pomace where the OP20% (360±15) and OP30% (371±59) treatments improve the performance in relation to OP10% (348±27) and OP. The BMP of the substrates alone was 324±18 for OM, 316±38 for OU, 270±35 for OP and 175±19 for BM, values expressed in NL CH4/kg SV. This means that to generate 1 m3 of biogas from fresh waste, 8 kg of apple pomace or grape pomace, 14 kg of pear pomace or 11 kg of malt pomace would be needed.
