Abstract

The growth of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) has generated the need to address the management of this waste, and in particular the plastic fraction in order to minimize the negative impact, both for the environment and for people's health. The objective of this study is to develop a composite material by recycling the plastic fraction of WEEE as a filler material in a polymeric matrix, using extrusion techniques. In addition, to characterize the material by studying the mechanical properties of the composite. In this work, mechanical tests were carried out on the specimens resulting from the mixture of the plastic fraction with other polymers such as low-density polyethylene, high-density polyethylene and temperature-resistant polyethylene, in order to determine the strength and begin to explore possible applications.
