Abstract

A resilient engineering problem is the great number of technological accidents associated with the handling of hazards substances found in the inventory of most industries. These accidents, according to their level of severity, have caused a large number of deaths and injuries as well as economic loss. In the last years, the development of a methodology whose application contributes to the mitigation of its effects has become important. In this work, a methodology is proposed to obtain reduced models that estimate safety distances between the possible receptors and the dangerous source, taking as reference rigorous models that describe the phenomenology of the event considered. This ensures that the reduced models capture the nature of the event, in the simplest way while warranting a certain precision.
