Abstract

The ISO 26,000 standard "Social responsibility guide" addresses the need for organizations to assume the responsibility that lies with them in relation to society. From the point of view of social responsibility, the most important objective should be to maximize your contribution to sustainable development.

LAMyEN is a university laboratory that performs tests of electrical equipment safety, electromagnetic compatibility and energy efficiency, as part of a comptroller's management exercised by the Ministry of Internal Trade. In particular, the tests are carried out on electrical products for mass use: appliances, power tools, luminaires, etc.

For being a university laboratory and for its influence on the safety of the population, the management felt the need to get involved in transmitting knowledge and experiences to society. Thus, the international standard ISO 26,000 was fall back onto, the mentioned project was managed and the actions described were carried out.
