Abstract

There is a real need for compressible and economical manikins that simulate different types of breasts for research studies, quality control and other applications in mammography field. For several years, different models of mannequins to simulate breasts were studied and developed in mammographic studies to complete the experimental part of the doctorate. In this work, results are shown, including materials used, densities, Hounsfield units, linear attenuation coefficients, elastic coefficients and mammography and tomographic images.
