Abstract

The objective set for the study consists of estimating the additional rotating power reserve that must be available in the Cuyo-Comahue region due to the expected power fluctuations due to the insertion of new intermittent renewable generation projects, optimizing the supply of energy, minimizing response times and avoiding disturbances in the system. For this, the general guidelines established by the Administrative Company of the Electricity Wholesale Market Sociedad Anónima are followed, for the determination of the reserve for primary and secondary regulation of frequency in the Argentine Interconnection System. Based on statistical data that characterize the variability of the load and of the power of renewable generation in the area of influence of the wind farms, the parameters that describe the variability of an equivalent load are estimated, including the effect of variations in the load. proper and intermittent generation.
