Abstract

This essay details the study of the properties of cardboard recovered from garbage, its physical and mechanical characteristics, and its compatibility with cement; the object is to reach an agglomerated material that is applicable to the construction industry.

The cardboard under study is a material produced by adhering multiple layers of paper pulp and has one of its faces inked or varnished. Along with the paper, they make up 38.9% of the total material recovered from solid waste in the city of Santa Fe.

The project allows to obtain an adequate knowledge of the material, the available quantities and the pertinent characteristics to use it in constructive elements. At the same time, it is possible to become aware of the influence of the different factors to be taken into account when planning and conducting the tests.
