Abstract

The contact angle measurement is an efficient and widely used technique for evaluating properties of a solid surface, such as hydrophobicity, adhesion and surface tension. This work summarizes results about the design and construction of a low cost instrument for contact angle measurements. It includes modelling of building blocks and development of an applicative software for the treatment of experimental data.

The building blocks were designed in Autodesk Inventor 2018, and most of them were manufactured with a filament deposition modelling 3D printer. The applicative for contact angle measurements was developed in Mathematica 11.2.

This work is part of supporting activities for scientific research of the F.R. Reconquista.
