Abstract

This research paper deals with the generation of pieces by rapid prototyping using the technique, more commonly used called Fused Deposition Modeling, FDM.

In this project, those parameters that influence the dimensional accuracy will be analyzed. The objective is to experimentally study the deformations produced, look for one or more rules, as general and optimal as possible, that allow predicting and compensating deformations in future products in order to obtain parts with improvements, reducing the geometric error in an order of magnitude significant. The parameters to consider are: the tolerances, the precision in the dimensions of the piece to be prototyped, the repeatability, the contraction of the materials and the surface treatments after printing.
