Abstract

The improvement of academic performance is the objective of all stages of the teaching and learning process. A group of teachers and researchers belonging to the UTN-FRSF are interested in explore and characterize the learning styles of students and

Intervening variables, to then be able to adapt teaching techniques, study materials, evaluation methodologies that improve both of learning and academic performance.

In the reported experience, the Kolb’s test was used, which was applied in two groups of students of the second year of the Engineering in Information Systems and another in Mechanics. This tool allows identify personal characteristics and the way a student processes the information.

The analysis of the results obtained shows that are not significant differences between groups of the same career, while there are between different specialties.
