Abstract

This work focuses in a specific process aiming to manufacture of porous titanium structures by powder metallurgy methodology. Process is carry out by mixing TiH2, acrylic resin and a liquid monomer in different proportions aiming to control the size, shape and distribution of the pores to obtain osseointegrated biomedical implants with the desired characteristics. The study of porous structures was done using optical microscopy techniques and image processing by software and the results obtained on the size, shape and distribution of the pores for proper bone regeneration are discussed.
