Abstract

The activities of this 1st JEIN 2011 Conference will foster the enrichment of faculty and researchers through peer-to-peer exchanges. The diversity of the articles presented and the topics addressed reflect the concern for improving teaching and improving university teaching.
The purpose is to communicate to the higher education teaching and research community the topics addressed by the departments and the research projects that are carrying out significant transfers of knowledge and methodologies to the majority of the subjects involved in the research projects. On the one hand, the goal is to bring to light and exchange the results obtained in the projects with regard to classroom teaching practices, and on the other, it seeks to unify disparate efforts.
As a result of this framework, the goal is to acquire knowledge geared toward developing students as future engineers, bringing them closer to the sociocultural reality of the region and developing values ​​through a new priority topic (which will be added to the TEyEI Program): University Social Responsibility and Education for Sustainable Development.
As an overarching objective, the program seeks to strengthen the study of common and recurring issues through emerging Integrative Projects that bring together topics of interest in a collaborative effort between professors and researchers from different regions. The goal is to capture the wealth of visions and perspectives focused on regional needs with a shared geographical approach focused on engineering education.
