Abstract

This presentation provides an overview of the problem, theoretical framework, and methodology of a Specialization Thesis in Foreign Language Teaching at UNC (Universidad Nacional de Córdoba), which focused on producing regional materials from Comodoro Rivadavia (Chubut) and surrounding areas. The mixed-method approach research involved teachers and students from a local school, and the results allowed to develop a task-based learning syllabus, using English as a medium to explore regional regional topics, including geography, history, local flora and fauna, technology, ecology, cooking, astronomy, and daily aspects of life in the region. The syllabus is organized into three sets and made of twelve modules, each featuring a target task or project, with specific themes, colors and icons for the modules, and resources for teachers and students. For each module, teaching materials were created, resulting in 44 digital and local teaching materials. This syllabus, titled 'Voces del Viento en la costa de la Patagonia árida: Materiales didácticos regionales para la enseñanza del inglés como Lengua Extranjera', offers an innovative and formative approach for teachers and trainee teachers across various educational areas and levels.
