Abstract

The growing use of laser technology in material engineering has contributed to the advance of surface texturing processes, improving the properties of various substrates. The use of this technology has been developed mostly in metals, composite materials and biofabrics, but the study on cement-based materials is very scarce, but also of great interest to the industry. This work presents an experimental engraving process on concrete surfaces through the use of low-power, short-wavelength semiconductor laser, with the implementation of a new technology for the horizontal demarcation of pavements as the main goal.
