Abstract

The philosophy of agility is essential in today's work environment due to the increasing diversity of tasks in organizations. In 2001, the Agile Manifesto was created by software development experts, establishing fundamental values and principles that gave rise to methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban, adopted in various areas.
The Research Group "Continuous Improvement, Quality and Environment" of the National University of Mar del Plata faces similar challenges, with increasing demands and a limited team dedicated to teaching, research and connection with the environment through extension and transfer to interested parties. The objective of his work is to apply the agile philosophy in the group, focusing on continuous improvement. This involves using a Kanban Board to visualize work and hidden tasks, limit work in progress, and manage flow, improving efficiency. Although the team is in its first steps in agility, consolidating its use, incorporating metrics and establishing planning and monitoring meetings will be essential.
In conclusion, the agile philosophy has become an essential approach to manage the complexity of tasks in the Research Group, allowing us to rethink the team's approach and define priorities and rules. Implementing the still-incipient Kanban Board and limiting work in progress will help balance activities and improve efficiency. This approach promises to facilitate the identification of opportunities for improvement in processes, but it is emphasized that continuous improvement depends on the team's vocation and conviction to adopt new tools and concepts.
