In this work, the results obtained from the development of commercial zeolite type Y modified with Fe, Cu and Co at 3% w/w by wet impregnation, applied in the catalytic oxidation of 2-furaldehyde with H2O2, are presented. By the BET method, the surface area of the materials was analyzed and it was found that it decreases when incorporating the different metals. By XRD it was confirmed that the structure was maintained in all samples. Using SEM, a crystal size of around 1000 nm was determined in all cases; and by DRS UV-Vis and TPR, the coordination environment of the species in the zeolitic materials was analyzed, confirming the presence of the metals incorporated in their oxide forms. The performance of the different catalysts in the conversion of 2-furaldehyde was studied, obtaining a higher activity for those modified with Fe and Cu.
