Abstract

Low coherence interferometry is generating considerable interest in industrial applications where larger measurements with high resolution are needed. Conventional systems in the Fourier domain reach a limiting depth of 3 mm, mainly due to the spectrometers used in detection. In this work, the advances related to the design, development and characterization of a heterodyne detection system are presented, which allows to increased the dynamic range in an order of magnitude.
