III Latin American and European Meeting on Buildings and Sustainable Communities (EUROelecs 2019)

Abstract

The meeting focused and invited us to reflect on issues inherent to sustainability in the built environment and in the way we shape the spaces we inhabit and travel, achieving the transmission of experiences and knowledge acquired among researchers, specialists and professionals who act in the various areas of production and construction, reinforcing the exchange of knowledge between actors from different countries.

As the logo of the meeting symbolizes it, it advances along an expanding road towards a horizon that grows in social-scientific-technological development and in complexity, increasingly involving disciplines that specialize and strengthen each other; a slow road, but that is enriched at every step.

The event originates in Brazil in a meeting of national order (ENECS) held in 1997, which then expanded to a Latin American context (ELECS), taking place biannually since 2001, and which in 2015 has taken the form in which It is currently being developed, of an international nature (EURO-ELECS). It is promoted by the work group “Desenvolvimento Sustentável” of ANTAC (ASSOCIAÇÃO NACIONAL DE TECNOLOGIA NON AMBIENTE BUILTED); this time it is sponsored by the National Technological University of Santa Fe and Paraná and with the organization of the Eco Urbano Foundation and ANTAC.
