On October 23rd, 2025, the First Energy Transition Congress in Northern Santa Fe was held at the Reconquista Regional Faculty of the National Technological University.
Our aim was to organize a scientific and academic forum for researchers and developers from our universities and research centers, while also drawing on the experience of companies and individuals active in this field.
The energy transition is one of the great challenges of our time, driven by the need to overcome dependence on fossil fuels, diversify the energy matrix, and consider introducing the changes that will enable us to envision a sustainable model of development.
These proceedings bring together the full papers of researchers and the abstracts of presentations by specialists and companies.
The research projects featured in this volume were assessed and selected through a rigorous peer-review process conducted by expert reviewers, ensuring the quality and significance of the scientific contribution.
In total, nine papers were received and accepted: three addressing solar photovoltaic energy, three focused on energy efficiency, one on solar thermal energy, one on biomass, and one on biofuels.
The presentations also covered topics including biogas, liquid biofuels, lithium, hydrogen, and public policy matters concerning these fields.
It is important to highlight the scientific contribution of the collected articles, which provide rigorous empirical data, predictive models, and innovative proposals that integrate concepts from engineering, economics, and the social sciences.
In addition, twenty presentations were delivered featuring company experiences and research studies.
The event brought together research projects, experiences, and participants from across the country and abroad, ranging from Córdoba, Misiones, Buenos Aires, Chaco, and Santa Fe to Paraguay, Uruguay, and Colombia.
The variety of subjects and presenters fostered the participation of over one hundred and fifty attendees: specialists, local entrepreneurs, business representatives, educators, students, and members of the general public.
The environmental reality, along with the research and experiences gathered, seems to indicate that it is essential to conceive economic and social development on the basis of a diversified model of energy sources and policies that support this change.
The Reconquista Regional Faculty extends its gratitude to all those who made this first meeting possible: to the Rectorate of the National Technological University, to the organizers for their commitment, to the members of the scientific committee, to the researchers, to the specialists, and to the companies that joined this initiative.
This establishes the record and the precedent of what was envisioned as the first of many meetings in which we will continue to discuss, outline scenarios, and explore alternatives for what is unquestionably a key issue: the energy transition.
