JEIN 2018 - 6° Engineering Teaching Conference

Abstract

On this occasion, the great effort made by the Local Organizing Committee to plan every detail, from the evaluation of the articles to the dissemination of the event and its implementation, must be highlighted.
Based on the articles presented, and given the objectives of the TEyEI Program, it has been observed that the research topics have shifted from a more global perspective regarding technologies and engineering education.
This event seeks to establish links between researchers and research groups on similar topics. Today, considering the engineers we want to train for the next decade, beyond competency-based education, we must rethink and educate for creativity and talent that will allow us to solve problems in the future, for jobs that are clearly different from current ones, mediated by technologies and materials that are still being tested or do not exist.
This context has led to a new role for university professors, who must reinterpret the processes that each teaching act provokes in their students in order to adjust the process and transform themselves into communicators and strategic motivators for the needs of students in the next decade.
The university sees itself as a promoter of change in its context, related to citizenship training, social and productive spheres, shifting the focus from academic publications to publications aimed at improving employment and living conditions.
