This experience report presents the Artificial Intelligence and Education workshop, a training course developed in 2 editions during April and May 2024, aimed at teachers at the National Technological University (UTN). The proposal was designed by the Center for Educational Innovation and Research (CIIE) of the UTN to improve knowledge about educational technology and engineering teaching. The purpose of the workshop was to address in a practical way the application of generative AI in Engineering and STEM subjects. The dynamic consisted of group activities aimed at acquiring skills related to prompting, strategies for the use of AI tools and applications for the classroom. The workshop was developed in a face-toface mode with a duration of 3 clock hours, with asynchronous work prior to the date that consisted of reading and watching introductory videos on the subject. Initial expectations and motivations are presented, as well as evaluations of the experience by the participants through a survey. It is expected that this workshop will contribute to the transfer of good practices and the improvement of future training and capacity building activities promoted by the CIIE.
