Taking as a cornerstone the new Curriculum Design of Mechanical Engineering, based on Competence-Based Training, an experience is presented that arose as a response to the search for a portfolio of tools to build a fair evaluation based on competency-based training, for the subject Physics II (as a homogeneous subject of the four engineering courses), proposed in the tax matrix of the same. The proposal also sought to directly cover several aspects. These are, training in knowledge, and in Learning Results. These activities were carried out both in classroom work and in the laboratory, trying in each opportunity to develop and enhance the capacities and skills of the students, for the management and understanding of the objects of knowledge of Physics II. As a result of the use of this proposal, the majority of the students passed the course, an interesting number showed interest in research and 20% achieved direct approval. Finally, in addition to the conclusions, the anonymous opinion of students is used as a method of teaching self-assessment, and proposals for improvement are also presented.
