Abstract

In this study, a synthetic record is proposed, consisting of three truncated accelerograms derived from the extraction of velocity pulses. This proposed record is termed a pulse train. The procedure for extracting velocity pulses and forming pulse trains from these truncated records is explained. The response of four pulse trains, each constructed from three truncated records with varying configuration orders, is analyzed and compared with the response of the set of three complete records. The time history response is calculated using the Newmark Beta method, and the elastic response spectra for acceleration, velocity, and displacement are obtained. For the inelastic range, displacement spectra are calculated for different yield reduction factors.
