The glass-ceramics of the Li2O-ZnO-SiO2 (LZS) system have a wide range of coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) (α=50-200 x10 -7 K-1), and present good chemical and mechanical resistance. These characteristics make them suitable for use as a seal on metal frame and filters which works in conditions of high temperature, erosion and corrosion, such as those found in solid fuel cells (SOFC). Glasses were obtained from the Li2O-ZnO-SiO2 system, with the addition of different amounts of CeO2, used as flux agent, DSC and HSM tests were carried out to determine thermal parameters to be used nucleation and crystallization stages. Additionally, with the data collected, a parameter was evaluated, defined as, Sc= Tx-Tms, which provides an indicator of the capacity of the glass to be sintered, with Tx being the temperature of the beginning of the crystallization process and Tms, the maximum temperature contraction.
