Discussion on the occurrence of quasi-periodic responses in an experimental parametric pendulum system

Abstract

In this work, the occurrence of quasi-periodic orbits in an experimental parametric pendulum exciter system is studied. Firstly, to quantify the observed existence of spurious vibrations, the addition of a degree of freedom corresponding to constructive characteristics of the system is proposed. Then, parameters and regions of interest are established to analyze the behavior of the system, by means of numerical evaluations and comparisons with experimental measurements. Finally, the obtained results are discussed and compared with the proposed hypotheses.
