Abstract

The digitization of production plants, in line with the vision of Industry 4.0, involves creating a digital component known as an Asset Administration Shell, which stores organized information in submodels about each asset in the plant, whether it be a machine, raw material, or the recipe for the production process. In the context of batch production, the ISA-88 standard, which provides a specification for this recipe, has been used to develop AAS submodels representing various aspects of the recipe, including the sequence of process steps. The purpose of this work is to propose a tool that, based on a sequence in the Sequential Functional Chart language as input, automatically generates an instance of an ISA-88-based submodel. This tool would simplify access to Industry 4.0 benefits for industry professionals without requiring an in-depth understanding of the underlying technologies.
