Abstract

The city of Rafaela has a sanitary landfill since 2003 with a useful life of 25 years. After that there will be a socio-environmental problem due to the disposal of waste generated by the population of Rafaela each year, the circular economy model being the most sustainable way to transform waste into resources, reduce negative environmental impact and generate socio-economic opportunities. Studies carried out in Rafaela Environmental Complex show that the main environmental impact is represented by the blasting of plastic on the roads, fields and area of influence of the sanitary landfill. This work proposes the recovery of non-recoverable plastics (industrial composite plastics, T-shirt bags, etc.) though its use as an input in sustainable construction. The methodology corresponds to a multi-treatment experimental design based on mixing proportions (cement, sand, plastic) evaluating the response variable resistance to compression.
