Abstract

In this work, the performance of welds carried out on carbon steel sheets using the “Projection Friction Stir Spot Welding (PFSSW)” welding process using different combinations of parameters is analyzed. Among those involved are: on the part of the tool; rotation and descent speed, descent depth and diameter, while, on the part of the projection, the diameter was variants. In order to demonstrate the effects of the parameter variation, a metallographic evaluation, mechanical Shear Tension Test (STT) and Vickers microhardness tests were carried out.
