Abstract

This work describes the fabrication of oleic acid-stabilized Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles (NPMs) films prepared by the Langmuir-Blodgett method. Fe3O4 NPMs were synthesized by thermal decomposition and then injected into an air/water interface forming a homogeneous film, which was transferred to a previously treated glass substrate. The formation of a Fe3O4 NPMs monolayer at the air/water interface was revealed by surface pressure isotherms as a function of area, while the characterization by SEM and AFM showed the transfer of NPMs to the substrates.
