Revalorization of leather waste in particleboards
Keywords:
revalorization, particleboards, lather, composite materialAbstract
The present study investigates a possible alternative for the revalorization of chrome-tanned leather waste. The need arises due to the accumulation of waste in landfills, which has significant implications for the environmental and health sectors. The proposed alternative is the reutilization of leather by incorporating it in different proportions into the particleboard manufacturing process. To evaluate and characterize the resulting panels, their mechanical properties and water resistance were analyzed. In addition to addressing the issue of leather waste accumulation, this work also seeks an industrial application for these materials, contributing to sustainability and responsible resource management.
