SKILLS OF INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERS IN THE ERA OF DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION

This article arises from a research project on professional and business strategic competencies with a focus on Industrial Engineering. The proposed work proposed to investigate the management skills that companies need for their operation and analyze the skills that the University currently provides to its students to enhance and direct them so that they are the future agents of change and contribute strongly to the development of our country. In this sense, the object of study were the skills of students of the Industrial Engineering Career of the Faculty of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences of the UNC and of companies, these skills being understood as skills or practices with which situations are addressed. of the environment. In particular, the study considered the management skills of Industrial Engineering students and the expertise of organizations to face competitive strategies, gathered through field work. With this framework, a new project is proposed following the same methodology with the main objective of relating competencies in academic training and the needs of companies in relation to digital transformation. This reinforces the thought that knowledge and technological innovation play a capital role in economic activities and the development of nations.
