The desertion of the students who are studying the last years in the Industrial Engineering career of the Facultad de Ciencias Exactas, Ingeniería y Agrimensura of the Universidad Nacional de Rosario is one of the problems that must be faced recurrently and for many years. This paper presents a program that began in 2022 with the aim of reincorporating into university life students who, for different reasons, had abandoned their degree several years ago and had few subjects to pass before graduating.
This paper shows the first stages of the action plan, the tasks that were carried out in order to attract the different actors, as well as the results obtained in this first year and a half of implementation of the plan. Data extracted from the Guaraní system were used and surveys were carried out on those students with the possibility of being summoned. From this initial information, contact with teachers begins, putting together specific work plans for each curricular space for this group of students. It should be noted that each subject is different and it is not possible to make a common plan for all, therefore, in addition to evaluating the different situations of the students, it was necessary to work with the chairs to see the possibilities that the student, through their time available, their personal, economic, family situation; could complete what was proposed to approve each curricular space.
The results shown in this work, although they are preliminary, show that the plan is of the utmost importance, since it allowed the recovery of advanced students. Additionally, it facilitated the systematization of a series of diagnosis, monitoring and evaluation strategies that will serve to sustain and strengthen graduation strategies for industrial engineers.
