Abstract

This works describes the development of a simulation study to evaluate the production times of a metallurgical SME dedicated to the manufacture of attachments for skid steer loaders. The company uses a job shop manufacturing system, with different products and sequences of operations. The objective of the study is to identify critical resources and optimize performance, considering processing times, machines, operators, products, raw materials, and other resources of the production process. The computational model is developed in the SIMIO simulation software, which allows modeling, simulating and visualizing the production line in 3D. Subsequently, experimentation is carried out considering different operating scenarios and improvements to reduce production times are proposed.
