AN ARGENTINE SME INDUSTRY REFERENCE FOR THE TRIPLE IMPACT
Keywords:
SMEs, Tripple Bottom Lines, Global CompactAbstract
The purpose of this presentation is to introduce some of the conclusions we reached when carrying out a theoretical review regarding the focus on the triple impact of companies that adhere to the Global Compact, making a parallel with the organizational development forged by an Argentine metallurgical SME, which has adhered to the Global Compact in 2018. Regarding the methodology, in the first instance and given that this work is framed in the development of an interdisciplinary research project, a bibliographic review was carried out related to the implications within companies of adherence to the Global Compact of Nations United. Subsequently, a specific SME that met the requirements set out in the objectives of the research project was analyzed. For the latter, unstructured interviews were carried out with the current director of the SME, some of them were virtual and others in person; Various exchanges were also carried out in written form, specifically through emails. Additionally, we analyze specific company documents arranged in digital format. Among the conclusions we reached, we particularly want to highlight the relationship we found between the generational change in the management of an SME family business, certain managerial characteristics, which are mostly associated with issues of female leadership, and the definition of a renewed company whose current purposes do not refer only to economic results, but also seek to be sustainable through care for the environment and people.
