Abstract

The emergence of foreign conservationists advocating for the establishment of protected areas in Patagonia, and in the Province of Santa Cruz in particular, has led to conflicts between conservation, tourism, and livestock activities that remain unresolved. Like any crisis, this situation highlights shifts in the distribution of power among the stakeholders.
This study represents an inquiry into the issue, aiming to create the necessary conditions for in-depth examination of the implications and transformations that this crisis will bring about in terms of employment and economic growth in the province.
